The prolonged conflicts in Syria and Iraq continue to drive one of the largest refugee crisis in the world.
The discounted rate for refugees receiving medical assistance from the government has been removed causing the most vulnerable families to have limited to no medical access. A Community Health Program (CHP) has been launched in order to address the most vulnerable families. We provide primary care clinics, support groups, home based medical and social care. This permits us the opportunity to engage whole communities with compassion along with the community. We see 100 – 250 patients monthly in the mobile clinics set-up in various facilities that have a heart for their community. 5-10 cases monthly receive specialised medical referrals, such as lifesaving surgeries, cardiac follow-up, and advanced testing.
Our team provides house visits for the most vulnerable in the community throughout the week. Nurses, Doctors, Pharmacists, and a Social worker make up the team along with volunteers. We are able to provide holistic follow-up, gathering together, counselling, along with medical education, training, and support groups.
