“Valentin, would you be available to give another seminar about building assistive devices?” Dilorom* called me one morning. Dilorom is working for an international NGO in a neighbouring town. Over the past years, Operation Mercy partnered with them and exchanged seminars and training. Growing capacity is part of Operation Mercy’s vision, and therefore we are happy if we can share our resources and experience. As the rehabilitation for Children with Disabilities, corner chairs and walking frames are very effective tools. But this time I conducted the training in neighbouring Kyrgyzstan. In times of several violent conflicts on the border, it’s especially important to partner not regarding borders or nationalities. Ten local tradesmen from various towns of the region attended the training, and I’m looking hopefully into the future, that CWD can receive assistive devices.
